We take a counter-racist look at the legacy of Anti-Blackness within U.S. Pop-Culture by way of Music, Film and Television with a focus on Minstrelsy, Vaudeville, Chitlin Circuit and Blue Comedy. All of which displayed Rap, Poetry, Spoken Words and Rhyming as a fundamental element of entertainment tradition. We contend that rap has been a part of U.S. Black Classifieds entertainment tradition from its beginning.
